1906 Musical - It will be of interest, particularly to musical readers, to learn that a Master Stanley Ransom, solo soprano boy of St. Thomas's Anglican Church, Essendon, is on a visit to Hobart and will, during the next few weeks, be singing at concerts and at St George's parish church. Master Ransom has a voice of full, rich quality, with an easy compass from C below the stave to B in alt. He was heard at a private gathering at the Town-hall yesterday, and rendered several items with much brilliancy and sympathetic expression. His items included Sullivan's "My dearest heart," "The swallows," "The Lord is my light" (Frances Allitsen), and "The waking of spring" (Del Riego). He has been particularly well trained, and will be a great acquisition to musical ranks during his stay.
