Flemington-Kensington Church News, July 1917

We regret to hear that Sergt Paul Jones has been wounded.  We welcome back Pte J H Easson, invalided home.  We hope both will soon regain full health and strength.

Flemington-Kensington Church News, December 1917

Sergt Paul Jones sailed for Egypt 27th September 1915, with 9th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, and joined up after a few weeks in Zeitoun Hospital soon after landing when an attack of dysentry laid him aside.  He went to France with his Battalion and took part in the Pozieres fighting, but escaped injury until the last day, when he was sent to hospital with a wound in the left arm.  He received his "blighty" furlough in July and spent an enjoyable ten days in Scotland.  Since then he has been attending an infantry course at the 1st Anzac Corps School, and although working hard, was enjoying the change from the firing line with its noise of bursting shells.
