12433 L/Cpl. G. O. Williams, 10th Field Amb. left Australia 20th June, 1916. Calling at Durban and Capetown, he had five days' leave at the latter places, and became fairly well acquainted with the city and its surroundings. He saw also St. Vincent and Cape Verde islands. Landing at Plymouth he was sent to Lark Hill Camp, and went over to France in November, 1916, and had the usual experiences in common with his comrades with all the lights and shadows of war. He was once gassed and knows Fritzās choice morsels first hand. He spent one leave in Glasgow, where he was well treated, and another in London, seeing the world's great metropolis. He left England for Australia per the S.S. "Chemintz" on the 9th of July last, via the Cape, and arrived here on 5th September. Welcome home!
