Pte Treacy embarked with the 10th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Wiltshire on 7 March 1916. Later wounded in action, he transferred briefly to the 57th Battalion before rejoining his original unit. Subsequently transferring to the 22nd Battalion, he returned to Australia on 8 January 1919.  (AWM)
