Embarked from Melbourne, Karroo 18 Sep 1916, for Plymouth, England.
Gordon reached Plymouth on 18 Nov 1916, and still with the 3 Pioneers he was marched in to Larkhill training camp. A month later he was marched out to join the AASC at Parkhouse, and on 18 Jan 1917, to Codford, where he was joined by his brother Jim just out of a convalescent hospital.

Gordon was Marched out of Larkill on 18 Dec 1916 to join the Army Service Corps (ASC) at Parkhouse. He was marched in to Codford on 18 Jan 1917 and on 5 Apr 1917 he was transferred to 6 Division ASC at Windmill Hill.
The following photos taken at Codford would date from 18 Jan 1917 to 5 April 1917. His brother Jim was also at Codford during this time.

The tall sergeant in the centre front of the group above is Gordon's brother Jim Anderson. Jim and Gordon were marched in to the Codford Training Depot on the Salisbury Plain on the same day. Jim had previously been in hospital.
Westbury Railway Station is north west of Codford, and may have been en route to Cardiff.
