It is not obvious why John A Wiseman appears on the St Thomas' Roll of Honour and the St Thomas' Memorial Hall Roll of Honour as having died on Active Service,  because  apart from being hospitalised with measles while he was away, he seems to have been largely uninjured and returned to Australia in August 1919.
