Honour Rolls

 

 

ESSENDON.— The above branch met in St. Monica's ' Schoolroom 0n July 5th.  ......  It is intended to institute a roll of honour, containing the names of the members of this branch who have joined the expeditionary forces. The list so far includes Bros. G. O'Neill, W. Reidy, F. Mealey, J. Butler, F. Eggins, G. Shea, J. Murphy, F. Tuohey, A. Tuohey, L. Mahon. J. Munday, H. Webb, L. Butler, V. Hurry, J. Hurry. N. Munday, A. Mortimer and P. Skehan. Several of them have already done yeoman service at the Dardanelles, notably J. Munday, who had the exciting life or death struggle with a Turk, when both fell from a cliff into the sea, and ended by the drowning of the Turk.
